This post brought to you by Walgreens. All opinions are 100% mine.
In the never-ending dance of health care versus health capitalism, Express Scripts just fired an unfair volley across the bow of Walgreens. And Walgreens is answering.
If you're a Walgreens pharmacy customer, and under an Express Scripts plan, you are now being forced to fulfill prescriptions elsewhere. That's frustrating, when you know and trust your pharmacist. And also expensive, because it forces you to go to higher-charging pharmacies (and in many cases, less convenient pharmacies).

Walgreens is countering by offering added savings through their Prescription Savings Club at Walgreens.
Walgreens also offered to match of beat the average costs of any other pharmacy in the Tricare network (the military healthcare system within Express Scripts). Tricare, amazingly, refused to allow this. If you're caught in the middle, military or not, Walgreens encourages you to voice your displeasure to your local media. Yay for grassroots protests!
Fight the good fight, darlings. Health care means freedom of choice!
