How Not to Bake Green Beans


Have you folks tried the baked green beans (or baked pea pods) that Trader Joe's carries? They are my numero uno addiction right now. They're green, crunchy, healthy...and at a 2-bag-per-day habit, pricey.

So, in an effort to stop spending money on them, I decided to make them myself.


This is the story of a girl, a baked green bean addiction, and a lesson learned regarding the joys of consumerism.










And I left them there, at 250 degrees, for a couple of hours. I reasoned it was like dehydrating them, using a different tool.

Guess what?

I ended up with black green beans that tasted like pure carbon.


Lesson learned: some things are worth the money.
