Need a quick little craft project that says "I love you"? Here's a great one (originally found here)!
What you need:
- A deck of cards
- Nail polish or other paint that will cover the slick surface of said cards (I went through 4 nail polishes doing this, just FYI)
- A hole punch
- Two binder rings (or a carabiner clip if everything is packed and you're poor, like me)
- The ability to print (or handwrite) messages
- A glue stick
Step 1: Cover the backs of all cards with the polish/paint. Mandatory? No, but it makes the cards look a little less like playing cards. Alternate ideas include glueing fabric or paper to cover the backs of the cards.
Step 2: Punch a hole in the corner of each card (or two, if you're using binder clips). Make sure the holes align so that the Joker cards are acting as the bread of this happy love sandwich!
Step 3: Type and print (or handwrite) 52 reasons why you love this person. From the serious to the silly, have fun with it! You're going to cut out those reasons and, using the glue stick, glue one per card. Obviously, you can get very colorful and creative with decorative scissors, markers, stickers, whatever.
Step 4: Arrange the cards however you like, with the Joker cards (facing inward) as the first and last card. String 'em on those binder clips (or carabiner).
Step 5: Decorate the front of the deck as you see fit (I went for simple and straightforward).
And there you have it- a cute homemade momento of your love, perfect for Valentine's Day, anniversaries, or whenever. Enjoy!
