I recently had the opportunity to try Dermagist Pharmacueticals products as a treatment for my chronically dry skin. You see, I started out life as a typical combo skin gal, but as I've gotten older I have gone more and more to the bone-dry edge of the spectrum. That's a problem, as dry skin makes you look older (as well as being painful when it starts cracking and bleeding and peeling in the winter).
I've had a dickens of a time finding products that actually moisturize, without smelling strongly, being thick/greasy/oily, transferring onto my clothes, costing a bundle, or containing harmful products (like petroleum).
Enter Dermagist with their no-nonsense "miracle cosmeceuticals". I tried out (for review purposes)
Their Hydropeutic Body Lotion is alcohol-free, so it truly moisturizes (and doesn't sting when you apply it after shaving). Also, it has a slight medicinal tea scent that fades rapidly, and no lingering after-scent ickness.
The Hydro-Renewal Hand Cream is a moisturizer AND an anti-aging cream that fights age spots and wrinkles, as well as dryness. And it does this without any greasiness. Yay! It has virtually no scent and works very, very quickly. I noticed that after I rubbed it into my hands, the skin remained soft the rest of the day, despite repeated washings.
Foot & Heel Revitalizing Cream is specially designed for dry, cracked heels (to which my family is prone). It also works VERY quickly, though is heavier than the hand cream. It lacks any greasiness, has a stronger medicinal smell than the other two creams, and didn't rub off on my sheets as I slept. It did have a sort of relaxing effect on me, I'm not sure why, and my feet stayed soft but not slippery when I got up the next day.
Overall, I would definitely recommend Dermagist's Hydrating Spa System for anyone with dry skin (even mildly dry, from the change in seasons). It's effective, and the volume is such that these creams will last you quite a while.
BONUS! Dermagist is giving away one free Hydrating Spa System, just like the one I reviewed, to one of my lucky readers. Yay you! Enter below using the Rafflecopter.
