Friday Confessional

I confess...
It's been a long time since my last Friday Confessional. I didn't want to be annoying and post more than 3 times per week, so I cherry-picked memes to stop participating in.
As it turns out, that was a stupid thing to do, because I've been posting a lot of impersonal stuff (and even though giveaways and reviews rock, it makes me feel distant from y'all).

I confess...
I have applied to 100 jobs in the past 4 1/2 months of unemployment. I have had 4 interviews (3 of which were for my dream job, which they gave to someone else). I am trying not to let this affect my self-esteem, but rejection is rejection.

I confess...
The beautiful counterbalance to that is recently winning books, ad space, and a variety of goodies from the amazing bloggers at Rainy Day Ramblings, The Domestic Geek, and Secrets of a Sweet Southern Girl.
If you haven't checked these ladies out, you totally should- they each have fun, funny, and active blogs (and hey, if I can win a giveaway on their blogs, you can, too!)

I confess...
It's a relief to know that life provides balance. For every stressful event in my life right now, there's a shade of hope as well.
I'm holding on tight to that, because I run out of unemployment benefits in two weeks. And not knowing what will happen after that is especially frightening to this Virgo list-maker.

I confess...
All of this would be much more depressing and difficult if it weren't for Fedora, whose company and support has been phenomenal. He's been amazing- stepping up when I was too sick to do anything for myself, making me laugh when job disappointments hit hard, and being a rock of "we'll make it work" assurance.

I confess...
I'm surprised that we aren't getting more single gals signing up for the Sweethearts Swap. Miss Angie and I figured it would be fun for single folk (I mean, just think of all the anti-V-day angst, or 'love yourself' positive vibes, or gag gifts you could share with your single partner). Amazingly, thus far we've had just one single blogger sign up.

Are there just so few of you out there? Or are you just over the entire Valentine's Day concept? Hrmm....
