Musical Monday: Possessed

Once I pulled myself away from the gorgeous oddity of the music video (they do this, in their vids- tell a story that isn't obvious or redundant but requires speculation and piecing together), I realized that I really like the juxtaposition of a club-style song with darker undertones, the contrast of love with possession and danger, and Marlowe with a suit and straight hair. *ahem*

Anyway. As I was saying. It puts me in mind of predatory relationships, and there's clearly a story here (in the vid, yes, but also, behind the experience of writing this song).

Possessed, by The Green Children
There's a reason for all the darkness
That I have
There's a reason I can't explain
That surrounds us and clouds who I am

Guide yourself away from me
Cause you are him and I will win
If you're not ready for the deepest love
You'd better run
You'd better run
Run

If I catch your heart
I'll eat you alive, baby
Possessed by you
Possessed by you
My love, my love
Love love love...

If you weigh my heart
It be heavier
Than a thousand rocks
In the river

My intentions all pure
My passion is uncontrolled
Wild and raw like a firestorm I lure you in
Without me it will always be like you can't swim

Save your soul
Save yourself
Save your soul
Save yourself

Cause if I catch your heart
I'll eat you alive, baby
Possessed by you
Possessed by you
My love, my love
Love love love...

If you weigh my heart
It be heavier
Than a thousand rocks
In the river
