Nancy Drew: Labyrinth of Lies game review & giveaway!

So I'm normally an adventure RPG gamer, but I couldn't pass this puzzle-based game up!

Remember those Nancy Drew books?
(I loved them...I even made an eye of the week inspired by her outfit!)

The premise of this is right up my alley...Greek mythology!

Nancy has been called to Greece to assist with a small museum opening, which also involves a performance based on the myth of Persephone and Hades.
(what, you thought only the Hardy Boys were the globe-trotters?)

This Nancy Drew is thoroughly modern- she carries a cell phone, she's polite but strait forward with everyone, and she isn't easily shaken or intimidated.

I played the game on the Easy setting, so she also gave me some hints when I was totally lost.

There are games you can play on Nancy's cell phone, in the game...clever meta-gaming for the win!

There are also some very funny moments, like the recorded script read-throughs you can listen to, as the cast of the play works it out.

Also, there are plenty of off-the-cuff humorous moments in the dialogue between characters (especially the Hardy Boys, Xenia, and Niobe)

The game play is a mixture of exploring, puzzle solving (logic puzzles, as well as strategy, spacial, etc), and education (in the form of sleuthing about ancient Greece to help get the museum exhibit in order and track down missing items).

Sometimes the tasks felt a bit tedious; sometimes I was banging my head against the wall trying to figure it out.
And then- BAM!- the stakes would go up and things got intense.
I did actually gasp out loud a few times. And yell at Nancy a few times.

Overall, it was fun, easy to navigate but mentally challenging, and the time whizzed by while I was playing.

It took me about 40 hours of game play to get through.
Look how many trophies I missed, not realizing all those side quests were happening!

If you play this, CLICK EVERYTHING. There are Easter Eggs scattered throughout.

In total, I recommend this game for preteens, teens, and adults alike.
If you enjoy puzzle/logic/solving games that have entertaining qualities, I think the entire line of these is perfect for you.
