Wahooo! Apparently, walking 2 miles/day, 5 days/week, and eating smaller portions of everything pays off! Or at least, it paid off this week. The weather is turning crappier, and my desire to drive to work instead of walking is growing. I am taking the 5 flights of stairs every morning if I drive, but somehow it doesn't feel like it burns as many calories as briskly walking 2 miles. I do need to get back into hooping, and maybe that will help.
So far, the philosophy of "eat less, move more" is working!
